We had a lovely family stay and enjoyed the fantastic breakfast every morning. The staff were super friendly, and even helped us with takeaway plates for dinner one night. The location is perfect, close to great walks and local shops.
In my wife’s opinion, we wished for a larger room for our kids. It felt cramped with all of us, and a bit more space would have made our stay even better.

missingWrote a review on Jul 19friendly staffgood locationroom temperaturepoor timing
I booked a one night stay at The Lamplighter and found it easy to locate with a well-lit exterior. The staff greeted me warmly, making check-in straightforward. My room was clean and tidy, just what I needed for the night. Unfortunately, I struggled with the cold. the radiator hardly worked, and I noticed a draft from the windows. The bedding felt thin, which didn’t help with the chill. The bathroom was also uncomfortably cold, so I opted to skip the shower. Breakfast hit the spot with plenty of tasty options, but I found a staff member's timing poor when they tried to clear my plates while I was still eating. I raised my concerns at checkout, but it seems nothing was done about the room issues. the stay had its ups and downs.

everything about the property is absolutely spot on, the staff were really nice, especially james n dawn, and they helped fix a small mix up we had on the first night without any fuss. the food is amazin, esp the sunday lunch, there's so much food. we loved how friendly and comfy the place felt too!
the mattress on the bed could be way too firm for some, and parking is limited.
